I was new in the neighbourhood. While I went around talking
to everyone trying to make friends, there was one woman I could not take my
eyes off.
She was one of the most beautiful women I had ever seen. But, something about her eyes troubled me. There was no light
in those eyes. Empty and dark, they looked like bottomless wells. The next
thing I saw was the bruise on her lips.
She didn't look like she wanted to talk to anyone that day;
I decided to talk to her some other time.
The next morning, I saw a black eye.
Talk to her now and help her escape. This might be her only chance.
ReplyDeletePure fiction Soumya, not to worry :)
DeleteI loved loved this one! My favourite, so far. Keep writing. The short, intense format clearly works and you have me captivated and thinking about it long after I am done reading. 2 thumbs up!
