He was lying on the hospital bed, his heart had given up on him. But honestly, it didn't bother him much. This stint in the hospital meant he could get closer to the love of his life, Sonia.
He was aghast when his best friend, Ram, disapproved of Sonia. 'Something about her eyes bother me a lot, I can't place my finger on what', he had said. He had nobody else in his life except Ram. He had no idea why Ram had said that Sonia was after his money.
She had come into his life after he had gotten extremely rich, but that was merely a coincidence. Sonia, uncannily, knew every little detail about him and his past. 'That's just how much I love you, darling', she had said.
He was going to tell Ram how he was so wrong about Sonia. This week long stay in the hospital would make sure Ram saw how much Sonia loved him.
He wanted to tell Sonia about Ram's displeasure. He did. He was scared how she would take it.
Sonia said 'that's sad'. He expected to see tear in her eyes when she turned to him. Instead, he saw a wicked gleam that reflected in the knife she held up.
That was the last thing he ever saw...
